Interview準備 もうひとつのQ&A集

Interview中に最も多いQuestionは”Do you have any questions?”だと思います。よくよく考えてみれば当然で、質問するStaffは別に質問のプロでもなく医師です。更に面接時間はあらかじめ30分なら30分と決められているので、時間つぶしにもこの質問は使われます。一日の面接で大抵4-8回くらいは聞かれます。

そこで準備したいのが、この質問に対するQ&A集です。私は以下の質問を小さい文字でプリントアウトしておき、面接の合間でトイレに行くときなどにカンニングしながら、常にこの手の質問に質問できるようにしていました。あまりにすぐに質問が尽きると、プログラムに対する興味関心がないと思われるかもしれません。更に言えば、Inteviewといえども、相手側にしゃべらせておくほうがこちらとしても楽ですし、話の流れもスムーズにいく事が多いです。(注：以下の質問集はFacultyに対するものと、Residentsに対するものが混ざっています)。また、病院ツアーの際、レジデントと一緒に歩くことがよくあり、間が悪くなりかけると、よく”質問なーい”？などと聞かれるので、その対策としても有用です。

Safety: Is the lospital located in a safe part of the city?

Finding job: Do graduates of the program have problems finding jobs?

Fellowship: What percentage of graduates enter fellowship?

Conference: How many conferences are there per week?

Patient load: What is the patient load like?

Patient mix: What is the patient mix?

Off: How much time do you get off each months?

Publication: Is a thesis or publication required during traning

Strength/Weakness: What are the strength and weaknesses of the program?

Elective time: How much elective time is there?

Candidate: What do you look for in a candidate?

Boards: How do your residents perform on boards?
